About

Clearly I have a fascination for men who ignore me.

Hi! My name is Mona and I’m Moxie-Dude.

I’m a Montreal-based freelance writer and marketing professional (read: I hold a full-time job in the field of marketing and write for magazines when they let me).

I’m also a single mom, undergraduate of life and serial multi-tasker. (As I write this, I’m making spaghetti sauce, folding laundry and trying to rewrite the crappy end of an article I’m working on.)

Known for my ability to let the hamster run rampant on my laptop’s keyboard, this blog is my place on the web for sharing and connnecting. It’s where the only rules I follow, are the ones I make up as I go along.

If you’re trying to categorize this blog, I have two words for you:

Good luck.

I’ve been trying to figure out its place on the blogosphere since I started in February 2010.

Sometimes I write about the joys and challenges of parenting.

Other times I write about writing.

And then there are days when all I want to write is silly nonsense that possibly only makes sense to me. (Lucky for me, my group of loyal readers are too polite to raise the question that sometimes begs to be asked. (Notably, WTF?!!)

More than a means for paying the bills and the occasional over-priced latte, writing has been my best friend and therapist for over *gulp* 40 years. (It seems that when you do anything long enough, someone ends up paying you to do it.)

Mom of four, grandmother of one and warden of an often sleep-deprived mind (thanks to the hamster), I welcome you into my world!

Cheers! (Because it’s always Happy Hour SOMEWHERE.)
